She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, Clark Atlanta University, and South Carolina State University where she obtained undergraduate, graduate, and terminal degrees in accounting and educational leadership. She he has served in various capacities to include Internal Revenue Service auditor, financial analyst, nonprofit accountant, budget director, grant writer, nonprofit founder, and entrepreneur.
Her knowledge and passion for her community and assisting others has led her to become the first female to be elected to the Barnwell City Council, first African American female appointed to the Barnwell County Economic Development Commission, Co-Founder of the Voorhees University Center for Entrepreneur and Economic Development, Voorhees University Professor of the Year, and Newberry College Professor of the Year.
